Hi Pixie -

well, I made it up to the head. DS is having a sleepover at his aunt's tonight (gotta love summer) so I actually had a little interrupted time... YAY! It is going by quickly. How big is yours? I haven't measured yet, but mine seems so tiny.

When are you due? Do you know if you're having a boy or girl?

Yeah I'm stil at the head, I'm about to go on a 6 hour flight so I might take it with me to finish it up! Mine seems pretty big, but that velvetspun is so huge. I am having a girl in late august or early september. I'm also going to knit some cute pink unicorn washcloths for the diaper bag heh. I am thinking I would like to knit this again in different yarn that would make it a bit smaller, it seems a bit bulky for a newborn but maybe thats just me! I hope the head comes out cute tho! Hi guys,

I just finished an "adapted version" of one of these that has garter stitch edges but is otherwise all st st - I posted the pics on the What'cha Knitting forum - click here to see: http://knittinghelp.com/knitting/for...01&postcount=1

It was knit with double strands of Lion Brand Microspun and is SO soft...Thought you all might like to see it done up in a "variation" from the pattern...

For all of you who have finished this, may I ask how you did the head? I got lost in the instructions there for "knitting 2 at once" and ended up just joining and knitting the head in the round - but I would like to understand what I was supposed to do for future reference-TIA. Chris

I working on the head now. To K2T you need to put your needle through 2 stitches while doing a knit stitch. There is a video on this site you can watch.

Thanks for replying Walminn22-it wasn't the K2Tog that confused me, but knitting both pieces of the head separately but at the same time...so that you had two "flaps" to fill with the stuffing...I know I probably missed something obvious, but just got frustrated and ended up joining the stitches and knitting in the round. However, I would like to know the "right way" to have done it for future reference :-) Chris
