I don't know if it would be considered double knitting. Apparently the alternating purl/slip method makes a pocket. So I guess in a way it could be considered knitting the front and back at the same time.

I did this one over the weekend in Lion Brand Suede, light brown...it came out sooo cute, but I gave it to my cousin who is expecting and I forgot to take a picture!!!

I did one, too. Pics on my blog. It's really very easy to do and I love the double knitting on the head! It's a great technique to have as it makes knitting sleeves for small sweaters easier!

These were the patterns (although I ended up knitting all but the booties in 2 strands of the LionBrand Microspun):

Sweater: http://www.minidata.co.nz/major/freepatt/patt01.htm

The hat was based loosely off of this http://www.knitwits-heaven.com/soft_...k_baby_hat.htm but the "brim" pattern was adjusted to match the sweater

Booties: http://tangleknits.blogspot.com/ (scroll down about 1/2 way). Again, the pattern stitch at the top of the booties was changed to match the sweater

Woobie: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/...tml?noImages=0 (again, the pattern was adjusted from all garter to some garter edging with the rest in stockinette so that it matched the sweater)

As I said earlier I couldn't figure out the head on the bunny so just ended up joining the stitches and knitting it in the round. I was a little nervous that a baby could pick the stuffing out through the stockinette so I stuffed an old knee high with the fiber fill and then stuffed that into the knitting... I think I understand how I SHOULD have made the head now from reading these posts - I'm going to have to cast on some stitches and try it to see if I do have it right

I saw all of y'all talking about this, and i decided to make one today. so, i started around 2 pm, and finished around midnight. all mine is missing is the face. i did it in Hobby Lobby Dreamy Baby Chenille which is not as big as the velvetspun, but it still came out very nice. mine is purple, but she doesn't have a face yet, cause i don't like the way the black looks. so, i will work on that tomorrow.

i will definitely make more of these.

chrislt8, i say thanks becasue i was trying to figure out something to put the poly-fill inside of, and i just couldn't htink of anything, so i will use the panty hose idea next time.
