It is kind of double knitting on the head, but it's not an open tube. I could barely get my fingers in there to stuff it. I sprayed my stuffing with some lavendar sheet spray and let it dry before I stuffed it - aromatherepy and what not! I also gave it away without taking a pic, but they're so easy I will absolutely make more.
did anyone else think that the eyes were just a little creepy looking? I know you can't sew buttons on there or aything, and embroidery isn't my best skill....
I am not happy with the face. I am trying to come up with one that I like better, but no luck so far. I haven't taken pics yet, but i am almost doen with a second one. i will take pics soon.
in case anyone is still confused on the head portion, i thought i would try to make it clearer.
the pattern calls for purl, slip across on an even number of stitches.
so, after you do one row, on the next row you are purling the last rows slips, then on the next row, you are purling the previous rows slips, and so on. this causes a pocket, which make it a front and back.
that may not be any clearer, if you still don't get it, just trust the pattern. it really works out, if you don't forget and purl the wrong stitches.
as far as making kitty ears, i would knit the head as written, then only cast on 9 stitches and subtract 8 stitches from all the instructions as given, so you should have short pointy ears instead of long pointy ears. if that doesn't work, pm me, and i will try it myslef so i can tell you how to make it work.

Anyhoo, I'm NOT giving up! I'll CO again and give it another go.
Has anyone ever done this in cotton? Just wondering..........

okay well it looks pretty, but when you knit with it because it is acrylic and i dunno weird the way its put together it has no GIVE so its just hard to knit with, very hard. Then it doesn't knit up very even, I'm sure washiing it will fix that but it looks all lumpy and slug-like. I think once it's done and washed it will be fine but knitting WITH it is not fun. it's not scratchy, it just has no give and is lumpy.
haha NO but i did finish two hedghogs!!! Keep telling me I suck tho, it helps motivate me for reals!! I'm like hrmm I should pull that outa the closet lol! It reallyw as almost done, i just that freakin yarn.
