Another Lovely!
I can't help myself! I have to show off the yarn holder that we won today (yes, I'm completely obsessed with collecting vintage knitting goodies!).
This lovely is one like I've not seen before, don't you just LOVE her?! Since we found her in England, too, it will be a while before she's home, I can hardly wait
I must say, I'm the luckiet wife in the world to have Lonnie, he indulges me in whatever I want!!!! Which is why I've been lovingly knitting socks for him all year! I was so proud at our daughter's recital Sat. when some people were asking what I was knitting and my niece said "Probably socks for Lonnie" and Lonnie lifted his pant leg in a room full of people we don't know to show them all his Music Man Socks and told all of these people that he only wears handknit socks and they would, too, if they were lucky enough to have someone knit them for them!!! I was beaming with pride

that is beautiful, and such a nice story too!! the yarn holder reminds me of 30's and 40's glass and porcelain....

Thanks, I think she's beautiful!
It does look like porcelain, doesn't it?! It's bakelite, though. Most of these are, you will find some that are plastic, but the majority of these vintage ones that look kind of like this are bakelite. Then there are the obvious rubbery plastic ones that are not as old as these, but I've not actually gotten one of those, LOL, don't need to start another obsession...I mean collection
