It helps your keratosis?? I'm off to get some NOW!

I vote on finding a face lotion. Sometimes when I run out of face lotion and use just regular body lotion it makes my face break out.

Also, I just remembered, If a pimple pops up..put some tea tree oil on it, just a dab. You can find it at The Body Shop or any health food store. The pimple should clear up within a day.

Good Luck and hang in there....

One thing I forgot to mention...

It may be a good idea to keep your regimen minimal. Cleanse gently and moisturize lightly. I *thought* I had oily skin because I have oily hair and get breakouts. Turns out, all the oil free cleansing and toning etc was overdrying and actually CAUSING breakouts.

It was also a VERY good point about the make up brushes. Plus no makeup should be kept longer than 6 months. Anything that touches your eyes or lips should be kept no longer than 3.

I have acne at 33 and have tried Proactive and Mary Kay products. Now I use BeautiControl and also a new consultant.

For me Proactive dried my skin bad. Mary kay helped but didn't get rid of the acne completely and my skin plateaued(sorry sp).

Since using BeautiControl - Skinlogics Gold (and not even the acne line, which they have) my skin is much softer, cleaner and smoother. www.beautipage.com/erikagouin if you're interested

Thanks so much for the help! I bought some Cetaphil and I have been using that the last couple days washing my face morning and night with it. I'm impressed with how clean it gets my face. Of course, this is coming from someone who used to wash their face with water only. But it really cleans out my pores well. My acne is doing a little better. It's still there but I haven't noticed any new pimples in the last couple days. I don't know if that's related to the Cetaphil or not.

I'm going to continue the Cetaphil for two weeks and see how it goes. If it doesn't get better then I'll try another tip from you all and see but I want to try to change things one at a time so as not to overwhelm my skin.

I do already drink a lot of water everyday and I don't hardly wear any makeup but I suppose it's about time to replace what I have. :-)

Proactive works really well, but a cheaper line that does just as well is AcneFree. You can get it at Walmart. I can't use it twice a day like they recommend (very sensitive skin), but it works wonders just using it in the evening.

My face is looking so much better. I've had no new acne and what I had seems to be going away. I've only made two changes in my routine. I stopped using the generic lotion on my face and started washing with Cetaphil twice a day and I look so much better.

Chel, I've been using the soap for FOUR DAYS, and my keratosis is almost gone!! Thanks so much for the recommendation!

I'm so glad this thread was activated again! I was going to search for it today. I used up all of my cleanser I was using and had some Dove pads that I'm trying. I kind of like them, but when they're gone I'm going to try something else. Maybe the Bee soap. You said you like the lavendar, do you think the fragrance has any effect on your face? Just wondering whether to go with the Natural or a fragrance. Thanks!

I ordered the cucumber pear and the Eastern spice (Indian spice?)--I like both, though the spice one has a bit of an exfoliative property...I don't think it would make a difference, though.
