so glad to hear he and his friend are ok. It is very scary I know but its good neither were really hurt. Shock is nasty - it lasts a while but you'll get through

As a police officer, I highly suggest one doesn't take this approach to teach a lesson.

An easier way is to refuse to start the car and/or drive if he's not buckled in. And no trips with friends.
