hmmm... i guess it just depends on how fast a knitter you are and how much time you have to spend on your knitting... whatever you knit though will be appreciated

read a blog somewhere
she knits scarfs and then and the crochets them together
end up a mass of pretty colors
and makes a pretty afghan
i have seen some drab stuff donated\
lord knows their lives are drab enough
i am going to try this

There is a different kind of scarf project that goes faster, because you make it sideways. You don't have to turn it on your needles as often.
