How did you keep the points on the afghan. I have been making baby blankets and went to crochetville.org for help b/c my corneres were becoming round.. So I 5hdc in each corner ( the pattern was hdc).. it was big help.. the corners starightened up nicely..
BUT wow... how did you put such geometrical desgins in your afghan?

This is my first Tunisian stitch piece and definitely my first cross stitch effort but both turned out to be easier to navigate than I imagined.

I picked up the initial pattern which is for a tote bag from the April/May issue of Crochet Today magazine...Since I'm more a backpack kind of gal, I adjusted the body of the bag for I-cord shoulder straps and cinch for the top of the bag.

If nothing else, it will make a great knit/crochet project bag.

I wish this was a better picture but hopefully you'll get the general idea!

Thanks so much...i followed this pattern and then just did 6 rows of each color.I used 3 colors and 3 skeins of each,then just kept going till i ran out.

CFTWO- what a cute shrug/ cardi! is it a type of shell stitch?

It's more of a filet crochet type stitch - three dcs, 3 ch, 3dc, 3 ch (with shaping along the edges). The design is at www.stitchdiva.com. I want to make it for me now!

Shay, I started that afghan earlier tonight! The yarns I'm using are Red Heart Aran, Caron 1 pound Soft Sage, and Caron 1 pound country rose. I'm just doing 4 rows of each color on an H hook.

What do you think?


I really like the pattern, it's simple, but not boring. Just what I like in an afghan!

That looks great Braden,and i really like the colors you picked out.Its really a great pattern to do because its kind of mindless but fun....once it gets bigger the rows seem to take forever but i never get tired of making them.I have to get started on one for a wedding gift...im going to do it in white and heather....its always a big hit and they use them.

Cant wait to see it bigger.
