I have found a pattern (free) for a woman's cardigan using 3 strands of "double knitting worsted weight" yarn I am uncertain what is meant...no brands recommended. The guage would knit fast...11 st. to 4 inches! on size 15 needles. Can anyone clear that up for me?

Just use a DK weight or a worsted weight, it won't matter as long as you get gauge.

DK is about a `3' or light weight yarn. I think if you use worsted you only need 2 strands though, otherwise it might be too heavy.
