Knit picks classic circulars and options

Do these have similar pointy ends? I need a pair of size 16 inch circulars and was thinking of going with the KP classic circs if they would give me an idea of what the options were like.

The tips on my classics and my Options set seem identical, although I only have the classics in very small sizes for socks and the Options are all bigger, so... no direct comparison here.

I have the 16" circulars in almost all sizes (even though I don't need them

) and the tips an cables are exactly the same as the corresponding size of interchangeables. The dpn tips are the same, too. With the 16" classic circulars, the needle tip is shorter, though.

i have the classic circs in sizes 0-3 for socks. love them. i think the tips are every bit as pointy as the options set.

Do you use them for Magic Loop? I want to try these to learn ML, but do you think the 32" cable is long enough for ML purposes? Some people say 32, others say 40, but KP doesn't make 40" ones.

Magic Loop would be easier on 40", but it will definitely still work on the 32". Also, the KnitPicks cables seem to have the most flexible cable of all the circular needles, so they work exceptionally well for Magic Loop, even at the 32" length. Especially in the smaller sizes (0-3) the 32" should work well for most any project :grin:

Just an observation about options needles. A lot of people seem to be concerned that the needle points may be too pointy. I think all of us that are sold on these needles have discovered that even though the tips are finely tapered, they are not sharp. More like the difference between a sewing needle and a tapestry needle. This has been on my mind for awhile so I thought I would post it. Ellie
