Free pattern
Another designer on Ravelry, Laura Aylor, is giving away a free pattern in celebration of her birthday. I've listed her post below, which has the code needed to obtain the free pattern. She has some really beautiful patterns, especially her shawl patterns, and it was hard to choose but I eventually selected Litchfield. I'll probably buy Stella Luna in the future. Please note this offer has a time limit!

A present for YOU on my birthday
To celebrate my birthday on the 13th, Iím giving away a free pattern in my Ravelry Shop with the coupon code HAPPYBDAY from January 11 through January 14 (EST). (Thatís all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.)

This past year of designing has been so much fun and I really appreciate each and every one of my customers This is just a small way to say thank you! Spread the word

ETA: and letís not forget to leave a thank you note for the designer after youíve gotten your free pattern! Thank you so much and happy birthday, LauraAylor!

Thank you! I got the e-book with two scarf patterns called Oak Park and All Shades of the Truth! It was hard to choose, but the stained glass look caught my eye and I'm more likely to wear a scarf than shawl.

How do you find all these?!

Thank you for posting this. I got Serra because it's cute, it's seamless, and it has set-in sleeves. This is a technique I really want to learn. This knit should prove interesting. From the pattern:
Quote:
The beginning of this cardigan requires careful attention to directions. At one point you are doing front edge increases, sleeve increases, and armscye increases on both the fronts and the back all at the same time.
I really hope I'm up to it.

I thought about getting that one, but the sleeves made me look further.

The sleeves were what made me decide to get it. I want to see if I can do it.

Luck?? Actually, they have been posted in several different forums on Ravelry that I belong to and I have been fortunate enough to see them soon after they are posted (or it could be that I have no life and spend too much time on forums).

It is such a smart idea to do a give-away on the designer's part because I have been introduced to designers I probably would not have been exposed to without the freebie. Brilliant!

Thank you for the link! I got the Teaberry baby blanket. I make so many baby blankets for charity I try not to pay for patterns so I can buy more yarn.
