Wouldn't it be the same as:
*K1, yo, k1, yo, rep from * to lst st, k1 ?

The pattern is from a book I purchased. Im just a beginner and confused by the (). I am working on a double dropped stitched. The previous 9 rows were knit stitch. Then came the following
Row 41: *(K1, yo) twice repeat from * to last stitch, k1
Row 42: Knit across dropping all yos
So Im actually stuck on both rows. Do I just repeat Knit 1, yarn over to last stitch? and how do I knit across dropping all yos?
Thanks!!

It could be that you* k1, yo twice *all the way across--k1, yo, yo.
Then when you drop the yos on the next row, you'll have long strands and the right number of stitches.
