It's only July but I don't think I'll have time to make one this year. I have two large projects that I'm working on and I hope to have them finished by September. I may have to go with the donation route this year! Cash works for everyone!

According to the link above, This year's project is now closed. Did I misread? Looks like I may have to wait until next year.

According to this site http://orphan.org/index.php?id=40
the "projected" donation period will be between September 1, 2008 and October 15, 2008.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I love that you can submit notes or giftcards. 'Happy knitting' to everyone participating.

This year's project will start in September:

"Dates for the next Red Scarf initiative are projected to fall between September 1 through October 15, 2008."

This is on the right-hand side column under 'Red Scarf Project FAQ'. Please note that they will only accept scarves during that time.

Date Extension
I've just recently been to the OFA Red Scarf Project web site and the send in date has been extended to October 31, 2008.

I'm so glad to hear that the deadline is extended for this year. I'm almost finished with my non-red Red Scarf. I wanted to do something different this year, so I decided to try crochet and I'm making it in blue and gray.

I don't know enough about crochet to know whether or not I'm doing it correctly, but I'm having fun and the scarf looks good, so I'm continuing on!

Is anyone else currently working on a scarf?

I'm in...
I just found this thread and I am very excited. I just started knitting a couple of months ago. I can't wait to send in a couple of scarves.
