Questions on the Garter Ruffles Baby Blanket pattern!!
I have discovered the Garter Ruffles Baby Blanket pattern on this website:

http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patt...byafruffle.htm

I need some help figuring out whether to use 1 strand of yarn or 2 together for this blanket. The pattern itself calls for 12 oz of worsted weight yarn. However, the caption under the picture says that they used 2 strands of yarn for that blanket with a total of 22 oz.

So how do I know which instructions to follow?
Thanks!!

I think the baby yarns are thinner, so holding 2 strands of each would equal 1 strand of worsted. You need more yardage if you hold 2 thin strands together than if you just use 1 strand of a heavier yarn. So it depends which weight you're going to use.

So if I used worsted, I'd use just 1 strand??? Just wanting to make sure I understand correctly.

Thanks suzeeq!!!!!

Yes, just one strand of worsted. The picture was one that was knit with 2 strands of baby yarn, but the pattern is written for worsted weight.

Thanks again suzeeq!!!

This will definitely be my next baby blanket project! (or 2) I have lots of left-over pinks/purples AND others in various shades of blue. So I'll be using one of those combinations.
