My great-grandmother was born during the civil war, and her parents ran an underground railroad. My grandmother was born in 1904. She told me stories upon stories about the first phone in town, the first car she ever say, etc.
My mom was born in 1942 in CA. She and my dad went to the South for their honeymoon in 1961, and she almost got arrested for drinking out of the "colored only" drinking fountain. Something she had never seen before.
Times sure have changed!!!
