newborn sweater
My daughter is due to have my 1st grandchild in March.I want to knit the baby a sweater to come home in. I want to use cotton because of the time of the year. I am spinning looking at all of the patterns. What are some favorites that KH's have made?

I just made the "Heartbreakingly Cute Baby Kimono" from Mason Dixon Knitting and it came out adorable. I think the pattern in the book calls for Sugar and Cream (or is it Peaches and Cream? ) cotton yarn. I made mine out of Katia Diana.

the Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman is a classic. You can get it at schoolhousepress.com for $3.

I made a really cute, really easy wrap around baby sweater in cotton/acrylic. I used TLC Cotton Plus, it's very soft, but light and can be easily washed. There's a picture on my blog

Let me know if you like it and I can tell you which book it was from, at the moment I don't remember!

The Wonderful wallaby sweater is a easy, seamless sweater with a hood and a front pouch. The catch is that the pattern starts at size 2, so it's not really written for infants. It's great though if you want to make something a bit bigger

Congrats on your first grandchild!! How exciting

I made this sweater for my DD back in the spring - it was my second sweater (my first knit in one piece), and it wasn't too difficult. I used Bernat Satin yarn, but any cotton yarn would work as well. I'm planning on making another one for a friend's baby.

I am doing this one too and it is super simple and doesn't have any seams to sew up. I really like the way it is turning out!!
