Knitting Scripture References

OK, so I'm making these AWESOME "Knitsticks," which are knitting needles made from drumsticks, for my Belizean Mission Project. I'm thinking of burning some scripture into some of the sticks before I seal them.

I'd love any scripture references you know of that have the word "knit" in it. Or other favorite references that pertain to knitting. Or scriptures having to do with drums. You get the drift, right?

I'm not a Bible scholar so I figured I'd put the shout out to my Christian friends.

And in Leviticus there are several verses with the word knitted, but most of those have to do with Jewish law and what is considered acceptable to wear, what is unclean or clean, how to make something clean, etc. So they might not be useful, but for reference, they are all in Leviticus 13

This is a great question, and one I intended on researching myself. I am fascinated by the fact that the Bible states God knits, He sews (Gen 3:7 - He sewed fig leaves for Adam & Eve, etc.), He gardens, He "planted a garden" in Gen. 2:8

The Proverbs 31 woman quote by Jeremy earlier is one of my favorites, a woman of valor works with her hands .........FYI, some think the woman of whom King Samuel ("Lemuel" was his mother's nickname for him) spoke of in Prov. 31 might have been his predecessor Ruth (for whom a short book of the Bible is named). Fascinating story.

But I digress.................quelle surprise!

Depending on what version you search - best place to do that is www.blueletterbible.com to search different versions.....you find about 5 or 6 references each. For a more in-depth research, I highly recommend the free download E-Sword, with which you can search the synonyms (i.e. sew, weave, hooks, etc.):

Additionally, KJV has:
Jdg 20:11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

1Ch 12:17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if [ye be come] to betray me to mine enemies, seeing [there is] no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look [thereon], and rebuke [it].

Act 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

The woman of valor is actually a very well known Bible verse for Jews. Its Hebrew title is Eyshet Chayil and its sung every friday night at the Sabbath table by the husband to his wife. Its also looked on as a metaphor for the Sabbath itself.
