Deciphering directions

Can anybody help me figure out these instructions?
I'm knitting a baby sweater. There were 11 stitches on a holder on each side of the cardigan...here are the instructions that I don't get!

With RS facing, pick up the 11 sts from the Right Front stitch holder (do not knit them) reattach yarn (what does this mean?) and pick up and knit 10 sts up the neck edge, 16 sts across the back neck, 10 sts down the left neck edge and 11 sts from the left front st holder: 58 sts. Knit one row. ****Next row: work 2 buttonholes above the previous buttonholes in the same manner as before.

The first part of these instructions have me puzzled. I placed the 11 sts on the needle and then I picked up the 10 sts, 16 sts and the 10 sts. Then I took the 11 off the holder. But how do I knit the stitches that came off the stitch holder?? There is no working yarn there!!! Can anyone make any sense from this question that I'm asking??? LOL

Here's what I think ..... You are picking up the stitches to do the neckband. You will want to work on an appropriate diameter circular needle, most any length will do. Hold the little sweater as you have knit it, so that you can tell what would be the right side of the front as the baby would wear it. Slide the 11 stitches you have on the holder, for the right front, onto the needle. Now with the end of the needle that will allow you to continue up the right neck edge of the sweater, insert the needle tip where you want to pick up the first stitch, and with a new yarn held behind the needle, yarn around and draw up a loop of yarn onto the same needle you have the 11 stitches on.

Go ahead and pick up 10 stitches along that neck edge until where you would consider the back stitches to be, then pick up 16 in the back section. Now you are ready to pick up 10 more as evenly spaced as you can along the left front neck edge. When you have those knit the 11 stitches off of the holder, that are for the left front. You can slide them onto a needle to make this easier to do. Now you have 58 stitches on the circular needle. Turn the work and knit all 58 stitches.

There will be a few places where there may seem to be some looseness, and maybe some gapiness but don't worry about it. As you work a few rows it will "heal" a bit and you can fix any problem areas when you are doing final finishing with a tapestry needle and a few well placed stitches.

I never tie anything to anything when I knit, although it may not hurt anything to do so, it is not necessary. When they say attach, or join, you just start in working at that point.

Baby sweaters are so much fun. They turn out so cute and don't take a lot of time or money to make.

I know that I'm kind of slow....but, the problem that I'm having is how do I knit the sts that I took off the st holders since they don' have any "working yarn". The sts that I picked up has the "working yarn" attached to it, but the stitches from the holders are just kind of there...lol....I'm having trouble visualizing what you are explaining. But, I did place the holder sts on the needle and I picked up all the stitches and what I was left with is the problem I described above.....no working yarn to knit the holder sts!! Am I making sense, I hope??!! LOL

It says to 'reattach yarn' after you slip the first stitches from the holder. So you'll slip them to your needle, use a new strand to knit the picked up stitches and the ones from the other stitch holder.
