I'm in line for that book from the library - what are your overall impressions of it?? I am very much a beginner.

It's a great book! Quite a few of the patterns are simple enough for complete beginners. My very first crochet FO was the fat bottom bag from the book.

Hey everyone, I was just browsing free crochet patterns online and this same pattern is found as a free pattern at www.patonsyarns.com - it says "excerpted from the Happy Hooker", so it's not just a knock-off. You have to sign up to access the patterns at Patons, but it's still free and easy.

I love this scarf and made one in a pretty celery colored yarn from JoAnn Fabrics. I'll have to show it when I finish putting the rosettes on the ends. I love long scarves with crazy flowers on them. This'll go to one of my daughters or one of my sisters, who live up North.

Thanks for sharing. Can you tell me the color name of your yarn? It's so yummy looking..............

It's really pretty! I made that pattern too. Love that book!
This is such a nice pattern because it's so easy and quick. It's perfect for Christmas gifts and looks a lot more complicated than it is.
