Gryffindor House Scarf
I knitted this for a colleague of mine who is a Harry Potter Fan. It's his Christmas gift. I started this back on the 10th of June and finished a few days ago. Although the knitting was pretty dull, I learned 3 things.

1) crochet provisional cast on
2) three needle bind off (keeps that stockinette from curling at the ends)
3) how to make fringe

Thanks for looking at yet another one of these!

Ha ha! I think not I can't imagine knitting more than one of these in a year. I had thought to knit two more for my nephews, but I decided to hold off until a) they want one and b) they are old enough to appreciate them.

That's great and nice job on the fringe also! I've not heard about that 3 needle bind off..you mean it stops the whole scarf from curling in??

Amy has a video of the bind off --it's pretty easy. The main thing is to make sure you have knitted though both loops. And once you've seamed an end shut, no more curl in. And it made adding the fringe easier, in my opinion, because you don't have to cope with the curling end.
