Early Birthday Present
I taught my best friend to knit last fall to help integrate both sides of his brain after he'd had a brain tumor removed several years ago. He's never one to shrink from a challenge with an "How hard can it be?" attitude.

Yesterday he finished my birthday present, about five weeks early! A pair of Fiber Trend clogs!

Pics of them and my Trekking XXL socks are on my blog!

That's sooo awesome that you taught your friend to knit and he made you clogs. I wanna make clogs soooo bad - must not buy more yarn....must not buy more yarn......

My mom taught my dad to knit when they were first married after he tore up his knee and broke his leg and was in a long leg cast FOREVER. He was driving her nuts b/c it was hard for him to move around and 37 yrs ago the TV didn't have a remote and there was no laptop (or PC for that matter) so she taught him to knit and set him to working on a blanket for my brother who was a newborn at the time.
