I know the problem.. I know the problem!!!!

You gave him a bed that wasn't knitted... see the dogs like sheepskin to sleep on... if that isn't available.. one must provide him w/ something felted!

A knitter giving a baby a non knitted bed to sleep on! shame shame! lol

My dog, (a golden retreiver) pulled the stuffing out of any stuffed dog toy you gave her.. but.. give her a stuffed toy.. like you would give a child... she garded it & played w/ it.. never shredded it.

I suggest a felted bed.. and a rope chew toy! lol

Give him a good belly rub or ear scratch for me!

Big Bear Hugs!

Haha, how can you resist that cute face?

My puppy chews bedding when unattended, too. When I have to leave her at home (she is now 8 months) I put her in her crate with no bedding (awwww) and a kong filled with peanut butter to keep her occupied. She doesn't have to stay by herself very often, though, since I can take her to work with me.
