Plus Sized Sock Patterns
Am I the only one on Earth that inherited thick ankles? As a beginner, I cannot find a sock pattern that is easily adjusted for thicker ankles. Any suggestions?

Could you knit one with the leg in ribbing and on larger needles, then switch to the right needle size for the foot?

What I do is CO the right number of sts to fit the ankle and make the leg. Then make the heel and keep decreasing down until it fits the foot.

My CO might be 74 sts and my foot 64, depending on yarn, needles, etc., etc., etc.

The book 'Big Girl Knits' has a formula in the book for adjusting socks.

From the web site www.knittingnow.com I printed the pattern "the 56 stitch,56 row sock. It seems to work well for me. The ownr of my fav yarn store says the longer the ribbing, the more stretch there is. Thanks to the other replies, I will be checking them out too!

I got a `403 forbidden' message when I tried that link. That's really odd....

ETA - I found the sock pattern though... http://www.chicknits.com/56st56rowsock.html but I wanted to see what else the site had. :(
