I am *trying* to knit the Jester Bootees from Zoe Mellors book 50 baby bootees to knit.
I am sooo confused with the Make a hem part,
rows 8-9 knit
row 10 purl
row 11 k1, *yo, k2tog* to end
row 12 purl
row 13 knit
row 14 purl row 15: make hem, fold work at row of holes and knit together, 1 stitch from the needle and 1 stitch from row 9 across row.
I just don't understand... do I pick up stitches from row 9?
and how would I know where row 9 is?
I haven't seen the pattern or done this, but that purl row before the eyelet row should help give you a clue about where to pick up. I don't think it's highly critical if you pick up on the 9th or 10th row (whichever is easier for you) as long as you're consistent.
When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.
