how to measure
Hi Everyone, When a pattern says to change to a different stitch after you have knitted 2 inches are you to measure the piece from the bottom of the needle or the top? Also, when doing a St st for 1" ending on a purl row. Does that mean to purl a row with the right side facing you or to stop when you turn the piece around and you already have a purl row. Meaning the back side of a knit stitch is a purl stitch. Thanks for being there and for the help. Judy

When you measure, you should measure to the bottom of the needle.

When ending on a purl row in St st you'll want to end after working a WS row, which is a row that is already purled.

Happy Knitting,
Kristen
