Joining after working back and forth

After joining from going back and forth with stockinette stitch will the stockinette stitch be on the outside if I keep knitting?

Finish a knit row, then join by knitting the first stitch on that same row.

Yes it will be, but make sure you are holding your knitting correctly or it will be on the inside. The needles should be close to your body and the loop away from your body when knitting..you will be knitting on the outside.
