I did take a concept design in for him to see first. I had made the original ambigram and then I let him make his own version of it because I wanted more traditional "tattoo lettering". I've since made two other knit/purl ambigrams for friends. You can see one here, and I made the other for Kristinw here on KH!

OMG, I didn't realize right away that the two are the SAME tattoo! That is so cool!

I love how the knit and purl are "two sides of the same thing." So appropriate!!
