Winter Wonderland Swap 2007 (Successfully Ended)

The days are getting shorter and the evenings (and some days, depending on where you live) are getting cooler. That’s right….Winter isn’t far away! On that note, we are having a “Winter Wonderland Swap”. I am honored to be your hostess for this swap and am looking forward to our all having a wonderful time.

What could be more wonderful a cold winter’s night than snuggling up with YARN, STITCHMARKERS in your favorite COLORS, perhaps a special pattern, and SOMETHING HOT to drink and knitting up something special to keep you warm and toasty?

This is a simple swap. It is an anonymous swap (like the Surprise Theme Swap which recently ended). You will have one person you will send a “Winter Wonderland” package tailored just for them, and a different person from whom you should receive a package tailored to you. We will have several cost categories for you to select from. You can make items or add more if you like, but this is not required. Registration for the swap will end on October 24th. Additionally, this swap does NOT require that you knit something for your swap partner! We probably all have piles of projects OTN, or headed that way, to be knit in time for the holidays. We don’t wish to add to that “to knit” list by requiring you to knit something for your partner. This swap is more about the supplies to enable us to knit something ourselves (or someone special). What a WONDERFUL thing to unwind and relax with during this hectic time of year.

Yes, this swap leads up to the December holiday period. As an international knitting community who likely all celebrate different holidays, we have decided to call this a “Winter Wonderland Swap” rather than focusing on any specific holiday (i.e. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or any holiday I might have missed). I have, however, included questions in the questionnaire regarding holiday preferences and will do my very best to align partners accordingly. I just ask that you pay attention to your pal’s preferences. Note that you do not have to send holiday themed items. This is, after-all, a “Winter Wonderland Swap” so anything related to snow and/or keeping warm in it is great!

Package suggestions: Yarn, set of stitch markers or some beads for receiver to make stitch markers (yarn and markers/beads in receiver’s fave colors would be ideal!), and SOMETHING HOT to drink.

Registration Opens: IMMEDIATELY
Registration Closes: OCTOBER 24th, 2007
Swap Partner Names Sent: by NOVEMBER 1, 2007
Package Postmark Date: Packages must be postmarked by December 8 to, hopefully, ensure everyone gets their packages by the various holidays.

I think I'll take yet ANOTHER clue from Jeanius80 (who ran such a WONDERFUL last swap) and post the questionaire here shortly. You can just copy and paste it and zap it back to me filled out....
