Hallowig

Being a little intimidated by patterns I thought that I would try Hallowig for a first run non-flat item. I am a self taught knitter and understanding patterns completely escapes me. Could someone please explain to me where I am suppose to pick up stitches for the bangs? I have read and reread it several times and scratches my head and cursed and still nothing. I think that it is such a cute pattern and would complete my Halloween outfit perfectly. But I am so lost!

You don't pick up stitches for the bangs. At this point in the pattern you start knitting in the round.

Start by casting on 32 stitches and then put the other stitches on the circular or dpns and start working in the round.
