Crocheted cuff for Felted slipper

I am new to crocheting, know how to chain and now do a single, but I can't figure out how to put two rounds of single crochet on this slipper I knitted before I felt it. I did one round and it made the hole the foot goes in very small so I know I screwed up. Can anyone tell me how to crochet onto a knit project or at least lead me to instructions on how to do it properly? Thanks

Well, I haven't done it, but use a much larger hook or make the sc very loose. To do the second round you chain two and then do the second round in the loops from the previous round.. LOOSELY. Felting will hide any imperfections.

Thanks Jan. I figured it out after I posted. I chained one round then started my single crochet and that worked.
