Easy Baby Blanket
Does anyone know of a really easy, but cute, baby blanket pattern? I have a friend who is a beginning knitter and will soon be a first time grandmother and wants to knit a blanket for her grandchild. I will help her get started and give a lesson or two so it can be more than just garter stitch. Thanks so much.

The "dishcloth" baby blanket is very easy and she can make it as big or small as she likes. It's actually the same pattern as the first dishcloth I made, and it's great because you learn all sorts of knitting skills. Here's the dishcloth blanket pattern:http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/crafting/ar...820467,00.html and here's a whole ton more to look through: http://www.knittingpatterncentral.co...y_blankets.php

Basketweave patterns are nice too - they are reversible and they are easy for a new knitter.

There are 3 here, all similar, which combine, sead st, st st and reverse st.st. in a reversible pattern. Cute, easy and good for teaching sts.
