Remember me with the gauge problem? SOLVED!

Hi everyone. I had posted a question about a week or so ago about having problems with the gauge for a Guayabera shirt I am knitting for hubby from this Summer's Knit 1 magazine. I just wanted to give you the update on this since I did finally figure out my problem. I am posting about it just incase anyone else encounters the same problem.

After I contacted the designer of the shirt he helped me figure it out. He said that this yarn, linen, does not knit up to the correct gauge and that I needed to wash and block my gauge sample before I made the measurement. So, After doing this I discovered that the linen softens and flufs-up very nicely and I finally got my gauge .

So, I have already made the back of the shirt and I am off to making the front. It's looking narrow and long but I have to remember that the yarn shrinks up and fluffs out.
