Hi, what a beautiful set, the mama's going to love it!
Can I ask you how you attach you tags to sweaters? Do you stich just the two ends or stich all the way around? And do you use any special stitch?
I put one on once and it just looked terrible!
Thanks in advance,
Jenifer

Hi Jen!

I thread a very sharp needle with normal cotton thread that is the color of the sweater...and just do little running stitches on each end. I don't stitch all the way around.

My daughter tells me the running stitch washes up real well.

I match the color of the sweater because I poke the running stitch through the label and the sweater. From the back of the sweater, it is invisible.

I am glad you liked the set!

Thank you for your reply! I will try using them again, people seem to like them and I think it just adds a nice finishing touch when it is done right! I think the "very sharp needle" maybe the answer to my problem!

BEAUTIFUL cardigan! I have this pattern but have never knitted it. Seeing your's, I'm going to knit it too. I agree with the poster who said your's looks much better than the one on the pattern.

I often see this pattern on eBay, and its usually cheap - try UK eBay, which is where I buy a lot of patterns and yarn.
Here is an auction that is current, though it might be ended by the time anyone reads this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Baby-knitting-pa...QQcmdZViewItem

The pattern is often labelled a TEDDY pattern, rather than KING COLE.

I love the idea of stitching in a label. Where do you get them? They do make it look very professional.

Hi!

Isn't that interesting!? My leaflet says KING COLE...but I don't think it is the name of the set...it is a "label". My LYS has lots and lots of leaflets under the KING COLE label. But they never give the actual pattern a name itself. Anyhoo...thanks sooo much for posting the Ebay link for everyone! WOW! $2 in American money is GREAT! Of course, shipping is also about $2 American money. The auction still seems to be available.

I got my LABELS from Herrshners.

Thanks again everyone for your compliments and kind words! Your words mean so much to me. I told my husband the other day: "The Kudos and compliments from my KH fellow knitters mean more to me than anything...even the giftee...because fellow knitters REALLY KNOW what goes into the making of anything knitted! The giftee just likes what she/he sees, with appreciation for how it looks and my love...but they know NADA about the time, materials, cost, efforts and skill that where expended on it!"
