There's a hole in the armpit, dear Liza dear Liza
I'm working on this top down raglan sleeve baby sweater. I've noticed holed in the armpits, and I just whipstitched them shut, and it looks fine. Is this a normal occurance in this type of sweater? Note that this is my first sweater, so I don't have any experience with this type a thing.

It can be normal, most people pick up an extra stitch or two, or just use the tail to close it up as you did. It's not noticeable when the sweater's being worn.

If the extras are on the sleeve part, I decrease them the next round. If they're on the body, I just knit the extra ones. It shouldn't throw the pattern off that much. Of course, I'm usually not following a pattern anyway....
