Debbie Bliss baby shrug
I made this shrug for a co-worker's daughter from Debbie Bliss's book "Simply baby". It's knit in one piece, which was really nice and made the whole thing much easier. It's supposed to be 18-24 months size, but i think it's a bit bigger than that after i washed it. The baby's name is Almog, which means "coral". So i made it with colours that remind of a coral reef. It's acrylic, to make the washing easier and was knit on size 8 and 7 needles.

Hi,
It is beautiful and I like how you custom made it for her name!
I was just looking at this pattern last night, because I bought some angora yesterday at the Rhinebeck Fiber Festival (it was a splurge!! for my granddaughter to be).
Could you tell me what size yarn you used and how many yards?

P.S. I almost forgot...someone told me that Debbie Bliss patterns run big and I believe it...I'm almost done making the shawl-collered sweater in Debbie Bliss Baby Knit Patterns and it is suppose to be size 6-12 months...I don't think my nephew will be able to wear this till he is 18 months!!1

I used unidentified yarn from a stash i received from my grandmother, so i don't how many yards it was. But my gauge was exactly the same as the one for the pattern ( i think she used Cashmerino Aran in that one), so i guess some worsted weight will be ok.
I guess now i'll know to make one size less from this book.
