First adventure in Fair Isle
I completed my first Fair Isle FO today... a simple hat, knit flat then seamed together with mattress stitch along the back.

Here's me "modeling" it:

And a closeup of the pattern:

I think I could have gotten my stitches a little more even but its not too bad for my first try I think.

It was done in Vanna's Choice yarn... I didn't want to splurge for something that I could have possibly screwed up royally :lol

That is a lovely hat - well done too on your first fair isle attempt - good idea to start small!

I love the colors! It's really beautiful! Did you make up the pattern?

I made up the pattern for the hat but the fair isle pattern was pulled directly from Vogue's Stitchionary 3... I absolutely LOVE the stitch patterns in that book

I love your hat!!
Awesome knitting going on there! Fair Isle is on my list that, sigh, is simply too long. I think I shall put it at the top of my queue. You inspire me so.

That's a heckuva lot better than I could have done. Great job.
