Peaches vs. Sugar (N Cream)
Can anyone tell me if there's a difference between the Peaches N Cream cotton yarn and the Sugar N Cream cotton yarn? I want to knit up some dishcloths for Christmas gifts, and I've found the Sugar N Cream at my local Michael's, but haven't spottent the Peaches.

This is my first experience knitting with cotton, and the Sugar N Cream is a bit stiff to work with. I'm just wondering if the Peaches N Cream is any different.

Thanks in advance for your help folks!

Well, I thought Peaches and Cream was just another term for Sugar and Cream...but guess what!? I was wrong!

HERE is a link to a Peaches and Cream FOR SALE website!

Now I too am curious about the differences!

I think Peaches and Cream is more likely to be found at walmart than the Sugar n'... Somewhere online I read that Peaches tended to shrink more than Sugar n'... after washing them.... Some people find one less stiff than the other...

Peaches and cream is sold at Walmart; as far as I know, they're the only retail store that carries it. They're pretty much the same, though have different colors. Lion Cotton is similar too. They're all stiff at first, but as you work with it and when the project is washed and dried a few times, the yarn becomes very soft. For something a little softer from the start, there's Lion's CottonEase with with acrylic and Bernat Cotton Tots.

I just bought some Peaches n Cream from Walmart to knit up some dishcloths for gifts and from just the feel of the skein I think the PNC is softer. I do not like knitting the Sugar N Cream because of how stiff it is. I'm hoping the PNC will be better, but won't be finding out for a while. And I also like that it is cheaper.

Lily's Sugar 'n' Cream brags that it "is the original thing"...the "real deal"...as in, don't settle for knock-offs...in the ads I read online.

So, this makes me think: is Peaches 'n' Cream a knock-off...(not that it isn't a good yarn!)...but that it arrived on the scene AFTER the success of Lily's Sugar 'n' Cream?

I think it may be, but elmore-pisgah who makes it, has been around a while, it seems, and they do have other retailers. Read here http://www.elmore-pisgah.com/AboutUs.htm and here http://www.elmore-pisgah.com/retail_...g_peaches1.htm

I have tried them both and like Peaches better because it's softer.

As far as I'm concerned, they're the same thing.

I havent noticed any real difference in them, only its harder to find peaches and cream than sugar and cream. BUT... you can get peaches and cream in double worsted for knitting rugs! Yay!
