clown pattern

Hello everyone,
I am still searching for a pattern I had many years ago...and lost! It was a clown made from knitted circles ( double with a central hole ) .The circles were threaded onto elastic and the whole doll was about 6 or 8 inches in length.I managed to find similar patterns but so far they are all crochet and I would really prefer the knitted version. I hope someone can help me find one.
