Beans, beans, the musical fruit...
Every time I make chilli my husband gets so mad at me because I insist on putting at least 3 different types of beans in it. Tonight I made chilli with chilli (red), black, great northern, and light red kidney beans. What is chilli without beans.... flavored meat? Does anyone else share my passion for legumes and grains or am I all alone here?

I looooove beans and lentils so much! They make me happy! I'm really not being facetious at all, either. I stick em in everything. You husband should thank you, you're doing his colon a favor!

I also have to limit the beans I put into chili to 3. Usually kidney, black, and then something else...sometimes garbonzos, sometimes pintos. I don't put any meat in at all.

Not me. I make meat chili and pots of beans. My family doesn't like the beans in the chili. Funny how different parts of the country do things, huh. I'm in Texas.

We always have Vegitarian chili. Which includes beans.

I actually prefer vegetarian stuff over meat -- hence, I just love beans! Black beans and rice make me happy, happy, happy. And meatless chili...YUM! I found a great chili recipe in a Southern Living magazine in the doctor's office once. Thank goodness I had my PDA so I could easily jot it down!

Count me in as a bean person too. I have been known to throw in a can of refrieds to thicken my chili up a bit too.

You can make chili without at least 3 kinds of beans? But why? LOL I love beans. Chili wouldn't be comfort food without them!
