Carrying yarn along? Chenille afghan?
Hi,
I'm trying to find a nice pattern for an afghan knitted with the dreaded chenille yarn.
I've got several ripple stitch patterns in this book and I have a question:
What do they mean when they say, "when changing colors, do not break yarn, carry it along." ??
How do you carry a differant color yarn along without it showing ?
THANK YOU for any info or help on this,
sue
ps: Has anyone knitted an afghan using chenille? I'd LOVE to see a picture and to know what pattern you used.

It doesn't mean carry it along the row, but carry it up the side. Say you knit a few rows with one color, then switch to the other, then go back. At the edge where you change colors twine the yarn strands around each other loosely.

Thank You Sue. So I just kinda carry the yarn up the side...I'll figure it out. It does seem alot more simple to do that than to cut the yarn and then weave all those loose ends.

THANKS AGAIN,
sue
