decreases on pattern
i am working on the decreases of the Groovy Sweater Dress (sorry not a free pattern). Having a problem with the decreases. This is a bottom-up raglan. There is a 16 st repeat on the front of the dress. Decreases are made every other round.

I am on the repeat of rows 1-10. I did the first decrease round and am row on row 3, ready to do the next set of decreases. I have markers on each side of each sleeve (so 4 markers total). Decreases occur on each side of the marker. Problem is the decreases now start to cut into the 16 sts of the bobble vine repeat. Wahhhhh! The pattern of course does not mention this. So if have either made a terrible error or I am just supposed to guess how that is going to work out.

Please help me! I am so close to finishing!

That happens with raglans. Just decrease and then continue with the pattern stitch for the rest of it. It will look like the pattern blended into the seam.

For the sts right before or after the decs, make them the way they would normally be in the pattern if you hadn't made the decs.

So, say my 16 sts repeat becomes a 12 sts repeat? Just count off those sts that I used for the decreases and subtract them from the repeat?

Yes, be sure you scratch them off the edges though, don't start the repeat from the beginning.

Thanks! That's what I figured, but I'm always second-guessing myself. I am almost done with the front pattern and then just have the neckline... I'll probably have more questions! The patterns in the book are pretty vague on instruction.
