Palindrome mittens?

I absolutely ADORE Kristen's Palindrome scarf and hat. I am thinking of making them for my DD. She has also asked for some mittens. Does a pattern already exist for a simple mitten using the Palindrome style cabling? If not, any suggestions on how I can do this?

What I've done in the past is use the scarf pattern for the wrist--to wrap around the wrist lengthwise--and then pick up stitches around to make a basic mitten.

I like Ingrid's idea of putting the cable around the wrist. You could also add the cable up the back of the hands to the finger tips.
