My DH is a streetcar driver. In the winter his hands get cold. He needs to have his fingers free to hand out transfers. When he saw the cheat's fingerless gloves (website above), he wanted a pair. I started knitting yesterday. The ones for the DH are black. I will post a picture tomorrow when he is awake and can try them on for me. I have another person who is a photographer and has asked for a pair to wear outside when taking nature pictures. I am half finished those. They are for a female, so I knit them in red with a cable down the middle of the hand. These are an easy knit. Just a few hours for each glove. I knit them with worsted on #8 needles for the DH (he has large hands) and #7 needles for the photographer (she has smaller hands).

Thanks so much for the link! I saved the pattern! They are nice'n'easy fingerless gloves! Can I ask you: what seam do you recommend for the least amount of 'lump' inside the glove?
Glad you could use the link. I was going for looks outside so I went with the mattress stitch. There is a ridge on the inside though. Perhaps you could consult the stitch section here to see what will give you a ridgeless seam.
