I don't know why attractive vest patterns are not more widespread.
I have been looking for one for weeks, and last night at the book store I hurriedly grabbed a book I'd heard much about, "The KNitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns", assuming that of course there would be at least one vest in it. There isn't one.
A vest is such a great thing to knit. So much quicker than a sweater with sleeves, and yet useful as heck. It is great for layering, doesn't produce bulk under the sleeves of a coat, and makes a person look a bit more "dressed" without much fuss.
Who knows a book of vest patterns only?
