thx SO MUCH for all the responses on dpns
i really appreciate all the responses - it gives me hope that i can do these sox.

for anyone else who needs help, i also found this sock tutorial that looks pretty good (of course all of you old-timers on here probably already knew about this one), but i found it extremely helpful and for anyone just learning how to do sox, it's free and explains things in a simple way with LOTS of pictures - which i really need. so here's the link and again, thx for all the help:

Remember that youtube is a good source of knitting videos.......especially if you just need to 'see' someone doing it, so that all of the instruction will 'click' in your head. I find that that helps me, since I am such a visual person ! This lady has a series on sock knitting.........

Also feel free to pop into our AnySock Knitalong........we can answer many of your questions as we knit along on our own socks ! Just click on the logo in my signature to find us.
