Joining In A Pocket Lining

I'm doing a great jacket that is supposed to be easy. I've checked the Lion Brand yarn site in case there were corrections but I can't find any. Here is the link in case anyone wants to follow me better: http://cache.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/p...archText=10181
So I'm up to the front left side where I need to join the pocket liner. I have no idea what to do despite the instructions. When I put the 2 liners on the stitch holders were they supposed to have skeins with them? I left about 10" of yarn but am I supposed to begin purling it on with this? Can anyone give me some tips/pointers for doing this?
I really love this pattern and the chunky yarn on big needles makes it go fast but this problem has now held me up for 4 months (had to do a quick baby blanket) and I really want to wear this thing before it turns summer again!

You use your sweater yarn to knit in the liners. Most patterns have you bind off stitches on one row, and then add the liner on the next.

The bound off stitches are the edge of the pocket that will be on the outside, and as you work across the next row, you'll work the sweater stitches, knit across the liner stitches and finish the row. Now the sweater will continue up from there.

Later on, you'll sew in the rest of the lining and probably add an edge to the pocket opening.
