cant post pictures of my FO's!!!!

Well I have just spent the last hour downloading my pictures on to the pc and when I come to send them to KH that's when I hit trouble. I dont know what I am doing wrong I need an idiot's guide to sending them on. Please can anyone help? I dont always understand your terminology over there in the US! xx

Perhaps the pictures are too large and that is why you are having trouble....

I dont think so the little icon came up saying reduce the size which I did.
I just hate things getting the better of me! I am getting really P..... off now!!!!

I sometimes run into trouble because I don't make the pictures small enough. There is a size limit for the files. Paint.Net, the free image editing software that I use, tells me how big the file is going to be as I'm saving it.

I'm including screenshots of the relevant windows for adding attachments to posts.

Step One:Click the Attachments button.



Step Two: Here you specify where the pictures are at on your computer. I circled the size limit for the *.jpg format.

If your files are too large, you'll get an error that looks something like this.

Once your files are uploaded, you can put them anywhere in your post that you want to by clicking the attachment button again and choosing your image from the list.

If this doesn't help, could you copy out any error messages you're getting?

Yes I think so I will have to ask my DH for some help tomorrow ....I have had it I feel like throwing the PC through the window!!

Just thought I would let you all know that NO I haven't been able to post my pictures of my FO's... How hard can it be? .... I think I need to get someone to show me and then I will probably so embarrassed at how easy it is! I am so envious of you all when I see all your lovely pictures of the incredible things that you make...I WILL do this I promise xx

You could also get a photobucket account. www.photobucket.com

you can upload all the pics you want there and use them in here. Below each image you add on photobucket will be 4 link options. Select the last one, IMG Code, by just clicking on the word "IMG code" it will copy the link for you.

Then come here in another window, so you can go back and forth if you have more than one picture to show. When you are done telling us about your FO, and want to add the picture, just paste the copied link into the message... If you have more pictures to add, go back to the other window that has photobucket open, and select the IMG code for the new picture. And come back here and paste it in to the message...

it will look like this when you type it into the text box...

But when you post it to the forum it will show up like this...

If the image is too big the KH forum will automatically resize it for you, and save you the hassle.

You can also use photobucket to make photoalbums online. Easy to share pictures with friends and family over a distance. You just send them a link to the album.

You need to reduce the size of any photo to appx 800x600 or smaller to keep the file size down first of all. You can do that with software on your computer or use one of these -

Resize to Mail

Free software you can download
Picasa (free)
