SAFF 2007 (NC Fiber Fair) was WONDERFUL!

Well, I guess this is as good a time as any to talk about SAFF.
The Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair, which takes place in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

SAFF 2007 takes place on
Friday, October 26th, 9am to 6pm;
Saturday, October 27th 9am to 6pm; and
Sunday, October 28th, 9am to 4pm.

Admission is free on Friday.
On Saturday & Sunday the fee will be $2/person for 13 yrs. & older (no charge for 12 yrs. and under).
Tickets purchased on Saturday may be reused on Sunday.

They offer free Child Care (for toddlers & older) on Saturday & Sunday in Kids' Alley

I go every year, and always have a BLAST!
There are lots of yarn vendors, spinning displays, fiber animals, and cool classes.

Two years ago, I took "Beginning Knitting", and learned some things I didn't already know.

Last year, I took "Beginning Spinning", and learned how to make better yarn. (see me there on the back row?)

It always falls on hubby's birthday (the 27th). Last year was his 35th so we had a party and I couldn't go to SAFF. This year, I'm going to beg, whine, moan, whimper until he says I can go. And I am not above a temper tantrum If needed!

sooo many pretty colors, i wish i lived in North Carolina 2q i would love to go there, but that's like 300 or so miles away

I'm trying to convince Angelia to come and take classes on dyeing!
It would be wonderful to have a group of KHers there!

sounds like fun.. how cool. i don't know of any fiber festivals here.. (pac NW) i *think* there is one in portland, but i just missed it. maybe next year ...

I just wish they were little closer to other us SE folks.. I live way west of NC and I can't seem to make it b/c of the long distance involved...
Is it always gonna be at NC.. it was there last year too wasn't it?

SAFF is sooooooooooo much fun! Its always in Ashville, NC. Its such a great place to visit though. You might be able to talk the hubby into going if he knows there is lots of stuff for him as well. Not only at SAFF, but in Asheville.

Shandeh, I would totally love to meet up with you and do SAFF together! Well with everyone!! A KH SAFF get-together, anyone?

I'm going to do what I can to make sure I go, but don't hold your breath, ok? It's a long drive and I don't like driving long distances myself, and I don't have any knitting buddies near by, so I have to convince hubby to take me. I don't know how thrilled he'll be about that. lol If not hubby, MAYBE my mom will go with me...
(I feel like such a kid. LOL)
