yarn information
I am looking for some guidelines or descriptions of different types of yarn such as worsted. Any help would be appreicated.

Here's a site that tells you ALL about yarn, knit-O-rama! As you look at yarn more, it gets easier to tell what the weight is.

One of my favorites is the all-encompassing Yarndex

Very useful.

I have used http://www.fibergypsy.com for info . I have a lot of older discontinued yarns and have to find substitutions in order to use newer patterns that call for currently available yarn.

look at www.knittersreview.com -- there are reviews of many yarns there and how they work up and how they hold up.
