K2tog is a decrease--each time you do this your entire row gets shorter by one stitch. So as you work your piece should gradually taper. Just keep track of how many stitches are in the row you are working on. (Starting with 30 sts and decreasing once each row it should take 13 rows.) __________________ "Happiness is a ball of yarn." ---{=^;^=}

I goofed!
So I'm bumping this message up to the top so someone else can perhaps help Jaijayjaye with this puzzle. I THOUGHT the problem was just a new knitter confused by k2tog--but if I'd read a little closer I'd seen the real problem (in this color).

I'm afraid it might be that the instructions are screwed up and we can't help here, but please have a look.

By doing short rows with decs then number of sts decreases. Just follow the instruction for row 7 (which is actually 2 rows) until there's a total of 17 sts on the needle. __________________ sue- knitting heretic
